In the summer of 2002, my daughter Karin and her friends started going on scrapbook retreats. I was not a scrapbooker but Karin had given me a travel scrapbook to record my 6 week Australia and New Zealand trip with my husband Chuck. They now go on scrapbook retreats about 3 times a year and have anywhere from 4 to 30 friends. We always had such a great time on our weekend retreats that I continued to scrapbook. I have now completed scrapbooks for three of my grand-kids and my mother. Karin and her friends have young children so it's hard to scrapbook at home. Coming home from a scrapbook weekend in July of 2006, we decided to look into opening a scrapbook retreat. We looked at several homes in a variety of cities before deciding on Ottawa. We found a house that met our needs with a large living room and lots of parking. We are also only blocks from the local scrapbook store. We are now ready to go and looking for a successful future.
